I want to thank all of the volunteers who made this event such a success (We had 224 participants!). Without you, the meet wouldn't have taken place. The number of participants has been steadily increasing, and we will continue to need more volunteers. Again, thank you.
It was a beautiful Spring day, with Dwight Freund doing a great job in setting the courses. Due to it being a new map, there were only White, Yellow and Orange Courses.
There were so many people, we did run out of maps. A huge thanks goes to those of you who kindly gave up your maps after finishing a course so that others could use them.
Among our many participants (many of them young people, always good to see), the JROTC students from Rio Linda High School made another strong showing.
The fastest time on the White Course was turned in by Mark Jamieson, representing Boy Scout Troop 645, with a time of 33:25. Our own Marsha Jacobs was the fastest on the Yellow Course, with a time of 52:59. BAOC's Rex Winterbottom turned in the fastest time on the difficult Orange Course, with a time of 44:15, 10 minutes ahead of the 2nd place finisher!
Congratulations to everyone who participated, and we look forward to seeing you again next month or at another future Orienteering Meet.
